Savannah Chatham County Public School System Family Engagement Program ensures that Title I, Part A parent and family engagement regulations are met with meaningful and strategic actions to build parent and school staff capacity as mandated by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015. Schools must ensure that strong strategies are in place to: 1) build capacity to engage parents/stakeholders in an effective partnership with the school; and 2) share and support high student academic achievement.

Tumble Books is a super eBooks program available through the Live Oak Public Library that will enable students to read eBooks on their learning level. The website has Spanish and English stories. It also has comprehension quizzes for many of the stories. Go to TumbleBooks – for access to the website students will need to enter a GALILEO password that can be obtained by entering their library card number. A visitor password can be issued to those without a library card.

Savannah-Chatham County School System: Due to school closures during the 2019-2020 school year, the Georgia Department of Education/Federal Programs Division is allowing the district family engagement policy may remain active for the 2020-2021 school year. Revisions and updates will be made and distributed to families as changes are made with our goal of having new and updated Family and Community Engagement compliance documents for the 2021-2022 school year.

SCA Families
We are seeking your input in planning for the 2020-2021 school year. Attached is our school’s Annual Evaluation Survey that was sent home with students on March 2, 2020. If you did not receive a survey, feel free to print a copy and send back to school with your child or you may come by the front office to complete a survey. All surveys are due by March 23, 2020.
