Before schools were closed in March and competitions were postponed or canceled for the remainder of the school year, the literary team from Savannah Classical Academy earned a total of six awards at the Georgia High School Association’s Area 3A Public Literary Competition on March 14, according to a release from SCA. The SCA team earned five individual awards and a fourth-place team award.
“These are certainly unprecedented and challenging times for everyone, but these students spent months preparing for this competition and it’s important to recognize their achievements,” said Barry Lollis, SCA’s director. “Plus, we are happy for the opportunity to share some good news with our community at a time when everyone needs it.”
The following students earned individual awards at the competition:
First, Girl’s Trio: Kayla Summer, Makayla Rudolph and Palmer Desborough
