SAVANNAH, GA – April 6, 2019 – The Savannah public school system gained representation on a state advisory committee in February when Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan selected Barry Lollis of Savannah Classical Academy as one of his three picks for the committee.Lollis was named Feb. 26 to the Georgia Department of Education’s Charter Advisory Committee, which has nine members who make recommendations about charter systems in Georgia. The committee does not make recommendations on the charter schools in Savannah-Chatham County because SCCPSS is a strategic waiver district, not a charter system. But the seat will give Lollis exposure to what other systems in Georgia are doing.
