Savannah Classical Academy parents, teachers reflect on school quality

Savannah, GA – August 13, 2018 – Improved student performance on the Georgia Milestones Assessment System helped lift an enrollment moratorium at Savannah Classical Academy in July a year after the state of Georgia said the school failed to meet academic and organizational benchmarks stipulated in its charter.But some questioned whether the school’s previous test scores reflected the work performed at the school. The relief parents expressed was also accompanied by a feeling of mistrust in the system.

Savannah Classical Academy Announces Improved Test Scores and Anticipates Future Growth

Savannah, GA – August 01, 2018 – Recently, the Savannah Classical Academy (SCA) announces good news as the State of Georgia unveils significantly improved test scores for this lottery enrollment, public charter school which first opened on Savannah’s east side five years ago. These results mean that SCA is now removed from the Turnaround Eligible Schools List and there is an immediate lifting of the moratorium on registration, which is good news for the school, Savannah Chatham County Public Schools (SCCPSS) and the students of Chatham County.
